Madhuri Dixit is all set to make her debut on the web. Her debut web series is named The Fame Game and its trailer was launched on Thursday. The Netflix show will depict Madhuri as an actor named Anamika Anand who has a ‘dark side’ to her fame.
The trailer begins by introducing Madhuri as superstar Anamika Anand and subsequently gets missing. This prompts an investigation which then unfolds her ‘imperfect life’.
During the virtual launch of the trailer, Madhuri said, “I play a superstar in the film and also have a husband and kids. But my real life is different from what you get to see in The Fame Game. I have been fortunate that I have worked with the best of filmmakers and co-actors. My family shares a much warmer relationship with me.”
Earlier, on Wednesday Madhuri had given everyone an insight into the web show’s theme by writing, “Be it stardom or glamour, everything has a dark side to it. Know more about the flip side of fame in Bollywood star Anamika Anand’s life in the series The Fame Game.”
The poster of The Fame Game was released last month and Madhuri introduced her character to the audience as she wrote, “Ajnabi si hai uski duniya. Ankahi si hai uski kahani. Par ab woh aa rahi hai apni kahani lekar duniya ke samne.”
Directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli, The Fame Game also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Lakshvir Saran, Suhasini Mulay and Muskkaan Jaferi, among others. The show will begin streaming on Netflix from February 25.
