Imran Khan, the nephew of actor Aamir Khan, began his onscreen journey by portraying the childhood version of Aamir in the iconic films, Mansoor Khan’s 1988 romantic movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and his 1992 rom-com Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Imran’s lead acting debut came in the form of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na alongside Genelia D’Souza, which recently celebrated its 15th anniversary.

Throughout his career, Imran starred in a series of films, predominantly romantic comedies. His roles included I Hate Luv Storys opposite Sonam Kapoor, Danish Aslam’s 2010 rom-com Break Ke Baad alongside Deepika Padukone, Ali Abbas Zafar’s 2011 Mere Brother Ki Dulhan opposite Katrina Kaif, and Shakun Batra’s 2012 directorial debut Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu alongside Kareena Kapoor. He also featured in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2013 satirical black comedy Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola opposite Anushka Sharma, Milan Luthria’s 2013 gangster film Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! opposite Sonakshi Sinha, and Abhinay Deo’s Delhi Belly. However, his presence in films ceased after 2015. In 2020, Akshay Oberoi, a close friend of Imran, informed the media that Imran had decided to step away from acting.
