Deepika Padukone is known to fully commit to anything she decides to do in life. Whether it’s movies, managing a family or a brand commitment, the actress never falls short when it comes to giving it her all. However, when she feels she is unable to fulfil her duties she doesn’t even shy away from stepping down from her powerful position. This morning, the actress took to Instagram to reveal that she will no longer be the chairperson of MAMI film festival. She added that she will not be on the board of the festival even though it has been great over the years to be a part of it. Deepika said that it has been an experience of a lifetime for her too at MAMI as she has learned a lot herself.
She wrote, “Being on the board of MAMI and serving as Chairperson has been a deeply enriching experience. As an artist it was invigorating to bring together cinema and talent from all over the world to Mumbai, my second home. I have come to realise however, that with my current slate of work, I will be unable to give MAMI the undivided focus and attention it requires.I depart knowing that MAMI is in the best hands possible and that my bond and connection with the academy is one that will last a lifetime.” Keep watching this space for more updates from Bollywood.
