On same day, November 8, 1999 two of Indian cricket’s greatest batsmen – Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Drdavid each in their own right – etched their names into ODI cricket’s record books with partnership that until earlier this year stood unchallenged.
Tendulkar remained not out on 186, his best score until he slammed a landmark double-hundred in 2010, off 150 balls with 20 fours and three sixes. Dravid’s innings contained 15 fours and a couple of sixes.
India made 376/2 and bowled out New Zealand for 202 in 33.1 overs to win by 174 runs and level the best-of-five series at 1-1.
