Created by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, Inside Edge received a lot of love and appreciation from the audience in its first season. The show was entertaining and nail-biting, narrating the dark side of match fixing in cricket. It also had a successful second season and the makers shot a third instalment last year.
But now, the latest on the show is that the streaming platform where the show releases is not happy with the season. According to reports, this season deals with an Indo-Pak angle that might prove controversial for the OTT platform. Speaking of this, an insider said, “The content isn’t upto the mark and after tasting success in The Family Man 2, the heads of Amazon Prime Video are being very cautious about the image of their platform. They don’t want to touch anything that’s substandard. There is an entire Indo-Pak element, wherein Vivek Oberoi’s character teams up with the Pakistan cricket board to destroy the Indian Cricket League. While they do believe that the content has potential, they also fear controversy with an added up negative factor of below par content. All these factors have forced Amazon Team to suggest the creators of Inside Edge 3 to reshoot the series.”
So far, there is no confirmation from the makers on whether they will reshoot of cancel the show for now.
