Priyanka Chopra has a packed slate of upcoming films. Among her projects is a Hollywood rom-com alongside actor and producer Mindy Kaling. It has been revealed that Priyanka will play a Punjabi woman in the film while Mindy will play her cousin.
Priyanka Chopra is set to join Mindy Kaling in a film the latter also wrote. The Hollywood flick will revolve around a grand Indian wedding. In an interview with Forbes, Kaling revealed that the film will shed light on South Asian cultures.
She said, “I have this movie with Priyanka Chopra, she’s Punjabi Indian from India and I’m an Indian American Bengali girl from the East Coast. It’s so different and that’s what makes our dynamic so fun together.”
She also talked about the shows on which she serves as a producer including Never Have I Ever. “We’re really proud of it, we show South Asian Americans that are from Southern India. Then we show a Muslim Indian girl. Culturally we see how they’re different from each other. The Asian experience is not a monolith,” she said.
Priyanka Chopra has been filming for Citadel, a spy thriller backed by the Russo Brothers. The show also features Richard Madden. She is also attached to star in Jee Le Zaraa alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
