Over the last two years, the film industry has mourned the losses of plenty of stalwarts who shall forever be in our hearts for their brilliant work in the world of cinema. Though they left a deep void on their demise, their work onscreen shall forever continue to make us smile and think of them with fond remembrance. One of those veterans is none other than Rishi Kapoor who left us after a long battle with cancer.
However, the last film he was working on was Sharmaji Namkeen alongside Juhi Chawla. On his sudden demise, his role has been taken forward and brought to conclusion by Paresh Rawal.
The Hera Pheri actor got emotional as he shared with a leading daily, “I respected him a lot as a human being. He was the father of my most favourite actor, Ranbir Kapoor, such a fine talent of the Kapoor family. To do his role, to carry it forward was a responsibility. I knew I had to approach it with a lot of elegance. One can’t take it for granted.”
Paresh Rawal had also said previously, “He is no more but it’s a huge loss for the audience because the film’s script is absolutely brilliant. I read a script as good as this after a long time. If Rishi Sahab was in this film throughout, he would have created fireworks. Whatever work he has done, it is phenomenal. As an audience member, it was my loss that he couldn’t finish the film.”
The poster of the film was released earlier today that showed both Rishi Kapoor as well as Paresh Rawal slipping into his character. Helmed by Hitesh Bhatia, the film is going to have an OTT release on March 31, 2022.
