SOTY2 which stars two debutant actors Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday along side Tiger Shroff is not performing that well at the box office when compared to the original Student Of The Year. The film has only managed to earn 53.88 crores in a span of 6 days.
The famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh Tweeted, “#StudentOfTheYear2 is stable on weekdays [plexes continue to add to the total], but the overall total is underwhelming… Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr, Sun 12.75 cr, Mon 5.52 cr, Tue 5.02 cr, Wed 4.51 cr. Total: ₹ 53.88 cr. India biz. #SOTY2.”
Looking at the pace of its box office collection, its pretty hard for the film to cross the 100 crore mark. The film opened at 12.06 crores and its earnings went drastically slow on weekdays.
The film is directed by Punit Malhotra and Dharma Productions.
