A passenger on board an IndiGo flight attacked the pilot when he was explaining delays. A video of the attack went viral on social media.
According to a video provided by an X (previously Twitter) user via an Instagram account, the aircraft was purportedly delayed by 13 hours, and while making an announcement, the flyer, identified as Sahil Katariya, sprang up from his seat and attacked the pilot.
According to a story in the Times of India, the event occurred on a flight from Delhi to Goa. Later in the video, another passenger is seen coming down the aisle to prevent the passenger from assaulting the pilot.
A police officer stated that a case has been filed against the passenger under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing harm), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), and 290 (punishment for creating a public nuisance) of the IPC and section 22 of the Aircraft Rules, and an investigation is underway.
