Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of the Punjabi fitness enthusiast Rocky Randhawa in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has been highly praised, earning him rave reviews. During the film’s success meet in Mumbai on Thursday, Ranveer shared how his wife, Deepika Padukone, reacted to the movie when she watched it last Saturday. Ranveer revealed at the media interaction event that Deepika loved the film and it became one of the most memorable and fulfilling movie-watching experiences for him.
He mentioned that he took Deepika to watch the film on a Saturday night, and they were the only ones sitting in the last row. He was keen to observe her reaction, and during the movie, Deepika was laughing, crying, clapping, whistling, and often turning to Ranveer to express her emotions. She even playfully said “awwww” at times, making it an incredibly enjoyable experience for both of them. Ranveer expressed his happiness that Deepika is proud of him.
Ranveer also shared a video on Instagram showing him and Deepika dancing to the popular dance number “What Jhumka” from the film. In the video, Ranveer playfully got Deepika to mimic his character of Rocky from the movie, and Deepika had a good laugh, stating that only he could pull off such moves.
At the music launch of the film, Ranveer had mentioned that Deepika is excited to watch the film and fully supports his lead role in a Karan Johar directorial. Deepika sings the film’s songs around the house, showing her enthusiasm for the project. Ranveer eagerly awaits her feedback after watching the film.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars Alia Bhatt, Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra, and Jaya Bachchan. It has been performing well at the domestic box office, having earned over ₹70 crore since its release on July 28.
